Identity, humanity and (anti-)heroism

At E1507

Upcoming Exhibition

Anti-Hero by Nicole Clark

Showcase: Tues, Jan 28 | 6—8:30PM
Open house: Wed-Thurs, Jan 29-30 | 2PM—5PM

Good evening Reader,

It's with great pleasure that we invite you to “Anti-Hero” by Nicole Clark at E1507. The exhibition opens the last week of January—so save the date(s)!

A Baltimore-based artist and writer, Nicole's work explore the intersections of identity, morality, and the cultural paradoxes therein.

In Anti-Hero, Nicole reimagines the narrative of heroism through visually and textually compelling pieces. From Mother Mary, depicted as the Mother of AI, to the stories of the Hummingbird and Wishless Genie (below), her work spans the gap between forms, overlapping strokes of visual and literary inspiration.

Myths and scripture are an age-old subject matter for visual art, but Nicole's expansive vision and multi-disciplinary talent empower her work with refreshing—and sometimes darkly comic—feminist perspectives on humanity and imperfection.
