Hello Reader,
Artists build powerful bodies of work, often over years, through effort, risk, and persistence. Somewhere along the way, the path starts to feel murky. Recognition comes in fits and starts, but the next chapter isn’t always clear.
There’s a common story that someone else—a gallerist, curator, collector, funder—will “find” the artist and open the next door.
But discovery isn’t a strategy. Visibility can be built. Momentum can be designed.
Next Marketing Session Pitching Your Art to Galleries: Develop Pitch Decks and Practice Outreach

Next Monday, we’ll work through what it means to pitch—whether that’s for a show, a grant, a partnership, or anything. And how to build the structure to support that outreach.
We’ll talk:
- What value exchange really means in artist-gallery relationships
- What a clear ask looks like, and why clarity builds trust
- How the "pitch" is more than just a single opportunity—it can reveal a mission
Artists often avoid business language, and for good reason—it can feel reductive, even extractive. BUT it can also offer clarity, structure, and agency.
Used with care, "business" becomes another tool—not a threat.
There will be time for solo work, conversation, and honest reflection—and as always, room for doubts, messes, and the in-progress thinking.
We hope you’ll join us.
Keep going,
Scott
