Upcoming Events

A Field Guide to Entanglement
by Lesley Finn

Opening: Thursday, September 18, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PMRSVP

Dear Reader,

Years ago, Lesley Finn made me a bound book with no words. It was an empty journal, but still spoke to me.

I’ve thought about that gift often—the way an object can be thought-provoking without telling you what to think.

This new exhibition feels like the next chapter of that conversation.

Lesley’s paper and knife work is as incisive as her archival research. Novels, public records, telegrams, manuals, medieval reference books—all arranged into pauses that feel as loud as the words.

A Field Guide to Entanglement weaves threads from Colleen McCullough’s 1977 The Thorn Birds through birding manuals, botanical plates and even redacted pages from the 2023 Attorney General’s report on the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

It’s clear-eyed and tender at once.

What ties it all together is not posture but attention. The questions are simple, serious, and visual: What isn’t being said? Who is centered? Who is protected?

Since it’s a rental, e1507 is a domestic space. Lesley’s rarefied collages will be read, lived-with, argued over like history books at the kitchen table. It’s an unusually intimate way for collectors—or Raven’s fans here for the weekend—to meet research-driven art at ground level.

Upcoming at E1507

Lesley Finn

Fall 2025: American-British—and former Baltimorian—artist Lesley Finn brings her densely textual, but striking, collage and print work to e1507.

You don’t need the “right” language to meet the work. A degree doesn’t tell you what moves you; care does.

Artists want their art in homes that care, not just homes that impress. And the most powerful collections are personal stories, not perfect portfolios. If you decide to live with a piece, that choice is stewardship as much as it is style—quiet, intentional connection.

You're invited. Mark your calendar for the opening on Thursday, September 18 · 6:00–8:30 PM (artist remarks at 7:30) → RSVP
